Middleton Harriers Athletic Club
-
Middleton Harriers is a small, friendly running club
based at Hopwood Hall in Middleton, Manchester. Road running involves a large number of the club's
membership. It also has a wide range of members, both in terms of age and ability. All age groups and abilities are welcome at the
club. Runners usually form into groups of varying ability so don't be put
off. Running is for everyone! We also have a varied social calendar which involves
the occasional tipple.
Training Nights

Monday Night
Winter Training Sessions:
- The Club will once again be using the facilities
of Springhill Track for winter 2008/9. The track has been booked from
Monday 22nd September and weekly until Monday 6th April 2009. Times
from 7.00 pm until 8.45 pm. Cost is £2.00 per person (to be paid for
on the night). This is an excellent facility with changing and showers
available at no extra cost.
There is the added benefit of being able to do road running, hill reps etc
on virtually traffic free roads and tarmac illuminated paths on the new
Kingsway industrial estate.
Coaches will be present to cover track sessions which have proved popular
over the last 2 years. PLEASE SUPPORT THIS CLUB INITIATIVE and see you
there.
-
We now
also run from the Middleton Arena on a Monday night.
7.00 pm - the main ladies group meets at 6.45 pm to start
running at 7.00 pm 7.15 pm - This group does speedwork etc.
These times will apply on Monday evenings until the 6th April when track
training will cease. We will run from HEATON PARK from the 20th April
2009.
Wednesday Night Training
There are 2 groups that set off at the following
times: 6.45 pm for 7.00 pm - the main ladies group meets at 6.45 pm to start
running at 7.00 pm 7.15 pm - The last group, which is also mixed, and is generally the
faster group sets off.
Our NEW base from Wednesday 21st January 2009 will be the new Middleton Arena.
Showers will be £1.50 per session, though members who have taken advantage
of the corporate gym membership will not have to pay, neither will people
who are members of the RMBC passport to leisure scheme. Meet in the forum
foyer. Parking on a normal Wednesday is available at the side and rear
of the building. There is a bar (they do serve coffee) adjacent to the
foyer and we hope that more members will use this facility after a run,
since this will be our base and provides a facility for socialising and
general discussion.
